Fredric M. Knapp was appointed Acting Morris County Prosecutor by Governor Chris Christie on December 14, 2012. He was previously appointed as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, Division of Criminal Justice by New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa.
Prior to his appointment as Acting Prosecutor, Mr. Knapp previously served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Division of Criminal Justice from 1979 to 1983 in the Appellate, Trial and Casino Prosecution sections. Mr. Knapp also served as a founding partner with the law firm of Knapp, Trimboli & Prusinowski in Florham Park, New Jersey.
On April 1, 2013, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp appointed John R. Speirs to the position of Chief of Investigations.
Chief Speirs joined the Boonton Police Department in August 1977 and served the township for 33 years as a law enforcement professional, rising through the ranks to the position of police chief in 2004.
