Denville Township Criminal Sexual Contact Arrest
November 30, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., and Denville Township Police Chief Christopher Wagner announce the arrest of Dr. Slyvain Junger, age 51, of Passaic, New Jersey, on one count of fourth degree Criminal Sexual Contact.
An investigation conducted by Detective Keith Partin of the Denville Township Police Department revealed that the victim was allegedly touched inappropriately by the defendant.
Despite these pending charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt following a jury trial at which the defendant has all of his rights guaranteed by the U.S. and New Jersey Constitutions and relevant state law.

Washington Township Aggravated Sexual Assault Arrest
November 30, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq. and Washington Township Chief of Police Michael Bailey announce the arrest of David N. Scheck, age 25, of North Brunswick. He is charged with one count of First Degree Aggravated Sexual Assault, one count of Second Degree Sexual Assault, one count of Third Degree Aggravated Criminal Sexual Contact, one count of fourth degree Criminal Sexual Contact, one count of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of third degree Witness Tampering.
The charges are a result of an investigation that revealed that beginning in April 2007, when the defendant was employed by West Morris Central High School as the band director, he engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship with the victim who was a student at the school.
Despite these pending charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt following a jury trial at which the defendant has all of his rights guaranteed by the U.S. and New Jersey Constitutions and relevant state law.

Hanover Township Bank Robbery
November 30, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., and Hanover Township Chief of Police Stephen Gallagher are seeking the assistance of the public in apprehending an armed bank robber who robbed the Union Center National Bank on Park Avenue at approximately 7:00pm on Thursday, November 29, 2007.
The actor is described as an African American male, approximately 6'2", 250 pounds with a muscular build wearing a black coat, navy blue hooded sweatshirt, dark colored ski mask, loose fitting grey pants, gloves, and carrying a handgun.
The actor entered the bank at approximately 7:00 pm, brandished a weapon and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Office Promotions Announced
November 30, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq. proudly announces the promotion of Sergeant Charles Brady, Sergeant Anthony DeVincenzo and Lieutenant Jane Recktenwald.
Recktenwald, who was previously with the Madison Police Department for ten years, came to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in 1997. Over the past eleven years, Jane has worked in almost every unit in the office including Trial Team, Narcotics, Intelligence, Domestic Violence, Major Crimes, Cold Case and currently Sex Crimes / Child Endangerment.
Brady, a 16 year veteran of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office has dedicated countless hours to different units in the Morris County Prosecutor's Office. He began as an agent in the Grand Jury and Bail unit. From there, he moved onto the Domestic Violence Unit and then to Sex Crimes and Child Abuse. He spent time in the Narcotics and Gambling Unit, Professional Standards Unit, and now manages the General Investigations Unit.
DeVincenzo came to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in 1997 with nine years of previous law enforcement experience as a police officer for the Borough of Roseland. Anthony has worked in the General Investigations Unit, the Sex Crimes / Child Endangerment Unit and with the Major Crimes Unit.
Prosecutor Bianchi says "These promotions acknowledge the hard work, professionalism and leadership qualities that each of these individuals has exhibited. It truly is a pleasure for me to be able to recognize them with these well earned promotional opportunities."

Fuel Oil Spill in Netcong
November 26, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., confirms an investigation in Netcong Borough regarding an oil spill in the area of Flanders Road.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that at approximately 10:55 this morning, a passing motorist noticed a red colored liquid running down the roadway and entering a storm drain. The spill involved home heating fuel oil and is estimated to be in excess of 1000 gallons. The storm drain that the home heating fuel oil spilled into leads to a tributary for the Musconetcong River.

Deputy 1st AP Connor Receives "Outstanding Career Advocacy Award"
November 20, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., announces the presentation of the prestigious “Outstanding Career Advocacy Award” which was bestowed upon Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Joseph P. Connor, Jr., Esq. at the State of New Jersey County Prosecutor's Association Annual Awards Banquet held in Atlantic City on November 19, 2007.
The award which Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Joseph P. Connor, Jr., Esq. received was presented by Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq. at the awards banquet last evening before all 21 county prosecutors, assistant prosecutors, representatives from the New Jersey State Attorney General's Office and other dignitaries from throughout the State. Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor Joseph P. Connor, Jr., Esq. has worked with the Morris County Prosecutor's Office since 1983 as an Assistant Prosecutor. From 1985 to July 2007, he specialized in appellate work. During that time, he argued 15 cases before the New Jersey Supreme Court and he handled more than 500 appeals before the Appellate Division. More than 50 of his cases resulted in published opinions. He also served several terms on the Supreme Court Model Jury Charge Committee (Criminal).
Among his noteworthy cases are State v. McAllister, which upheld the prosecutor's right to use a grand jury for investigative purposes, State v. Hester which recognized the prosecutor's role in the Drug Court Process, State v. Nicolai which acknowledged the prosecutor's power to challenge an illegal sentence, and In Re Gail D which rejected parent-child testimonial privilege.
In July 2007, Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq. appointed Joe as Deputy First Assistant Prosecutor and Legal Director of the office's investigative division. A lifelong Morris County resident, Joe attended the awards banquet with his wife Carole and his three sons.

Agostin Ramos-Ortiz Indicted in Double Stabbing


November 8, 2007: On November 8, 2007, a Morris County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Agostin Ramos-Ortiz, age 29, previously of Boonton, with two counts of First Degree Attempted Murder, two counts of Second Degree Aggravated Assault, one count of Second Degree Burglary, two counts of Third Degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes, two counts of Fourth Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and two counts of Third Degree Terroristic Threats.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 14, 2007. At approximately 3:10 a.m., Mountain Lakes Police Department responded to a telephone call reporting an assault that occurred at 1 Lakewood Drive, Mountain Lakes. While the victims were in the bedroom, the defendant allegedly entered the house and the bedroom and began stabbing the victims with two knives. After the stabbings, the defendant fled the scene.
Since the date of the crime, numerous law enforcement agencies including the Mountain Lakes Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Morris County Sheriff's Office, I.C.E., and U.S. Marshals Service have been searching for the defendant.
If convicted of all charges, defendant faces a maximum potential custodial sentence of over 60 years in New Jersey State Prison.

Investigation & Subsequent Arrests in Rockaway Borough
November 1, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq. and Rockaway Borough Chief of Police Douglas Scheer announce the investigation and subsequent arrests resulting from a dispute which occurred at the Red Carpet Laundromat located on West Main Street in Rockaway Borough.
On October 30, 2007 at approximately 10:40 pm, Rockaway Borough Police received a 911 hang-up call from the Red Carpet Laundromat located on West Main Street in Rockaway Borough. Upon arrival, police observed numerous males gathered around the Laundromat. These individuals began to disperse immediately upon the arrival of the police.
The investigation revealed that a male subject was engaged in an argument with another subject. The dispute was allegedly over a female. It was reported that this male subject displayed a handgun during the dispute.
Witnesses reported that this male subject departed out the front door of the Laundromat. The subject entered the passenger side of a silver Honda Civic. As the vehicle left the scene, Rockaway Borough Police Sergeant Pepperman and Detective Gosden, who were nearby on mischief night patrol, reported that each heard what he believed to be gunfire.
The investigation led the officers to the residence of Jeffrey Lorenzo-Suarez located at 42 Hudson Street, room #3, Dover. Officers came in contact with Mr. Lorenzo-Suarez. A subsequent search at the residence revealed a .22 caliber and .40 caliber handgun as well as a large quantity of cocaine.
Arrested:
Wesley Figueroa of 21 Blackwell Street in Dover, DOB 11/3/85. Figueroa was charged with Possession of CDS (Cocaine) and released ROR. Mr. Figueroa was located at the Laundromat.
Jeffrey Lorenzo-Suarez of 42 Hudson Street room #3, Dover. DOB 3/11/85. Jeffrey Lorenzo-Suarez was charged with: Possession of (CDS) Cocaine; Possession with Intent to Distribute within 1,000 feet of a School Zone; Unlawful Possession of Weapons; Possessing Weapons during a CDS offense; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Approximately one kilo of cocaine valued in excess of $50,000 was seized. Bail was set at $250,000 no 10% by Judge Phillip Maenza.
Alan Cordero of 10 Palm Road, Dover. DOB 11/16/87. Cordero was charged with: Possession of CDS cocaine; Possession of Marijuana under 50 grams. Cordero was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 no 10% bail which was set by Municipal Court Judge Phillip Maenza. Cordero was located at the Laundromat.
Prosecutor Bianchi Esq., commended members of the Rockaway Borough Police Department for their professionalism and swift actions. In addition to the Rockaway Borough Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit along with the Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit are jointly conducting the investigation. Investigators were also assisted by members of the Dover Police Department.
