Alleged Attempted Sexual Assault at Rockaway Mall
December 27, 2007: Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi, Esq., and Chief Walter Kimble of the Rockaway Township Police Department are seeking the public's assistance in locating the perpetrator of an alleged attempted sexual assault which occurred in the lower parking lot in the area of Macy's Department Store at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall.
On December 26, 2007 shortly after 11:00 pm, a female victim was allegedly attacked by an unknown male while walking to her car in the parking lot. The victim alleges that she was grabbed from behind by a dark skinned male wearing dark colored pants, work boots and a black hooded sweatshirt. The actor pulled the back portion of the victim’s pants exposing her buttocks. After a brief struggle, the victim was able to break free from the actor and she fled on foot. The actor is described as tall, with a height between 5'9" and 6'0, with a thin build.
The investigation is currently ongoing and is being conducted by the Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes Unit, Rockaway Township Police Department, and the Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Section.
